Okay, I really don't like your attitude.
I've explained to your partner the reasons why I don't think DeiKaku is likely. I've explained how I don't think Kakuzu would let anyone put him in such a vulnerable position, have complete control over him, etc - the only reason I think Madara would stand a chance is because I believe Kakuzu respects how powerful Madara is (and yes, Deidara is powerful too, but there are only a few people with power to match Madara's), and again I have this idea of Madara not allowing anyone to have that control over him (except possibly Hashirama, but I see them as more of a switch-pairing anyway).

And actually, you -can- have a relationship if it isn't strong. It's just not a very good one. And I could go on to say how Kakuzu and Deidara have barely any interaction as it was, but I don't knock the OTPs of other people, especially when I actually quite like KakuDei anyway, but the point still stands.

Now, another thing I didn't like about that post was "You either can or can't accept the FACT" - I'm sorry, but how is it a fact? It's your OPINION. And besides, I'm not saying he -can't- top Kakuzu. I'm just saying it would be seriously unlikely that Kakuzu would LET him.
Alright, I'll admit the "looks" thing didn't come out right, but that was because I had literally just woken up when I wrote that. What I meant is, someone as small as Dei wouldn't be able to overpower Kakuzu (unless, as I've said a million times now, he allows it), and probably wouldn't be able to have that control over him unless Kakuzu willingly gives it up.

I'm sorry, have you MET Kakuzu? He may recognise talent in others now and then, but he treats everyone else like they're not worth his time. I'd imagine you'd have to be pretty damn strong to get Kakuzu's recognition as something other than weak.
Also - "the rest of Akatsuki" - alright then, go and find me the exact episode, exact time and exact quote of each Akatsuki member saying Deidara is "hella special". I don't recall Hidan ever saying so. I don't recall Itachi ever saying so. They may have said he was strong, but you'd have to be to even be IN Akatsuki.

Your partner was good-natured and calm in her responses. She didn't throw her OTP in my face and basically say "You have to believe this, it's fact!"

But since we're obviously dealing in "facts" here - I'm gonna show you what a real fact is. YOU can either accept the fact that I don't think DeiKaku is likely (not saying it's impossible, please note that down before you reply), or you can't. Now, that IS a fact, because I have proof to back it up. If I'd said "You can either accept the fact that DeiKaku isn't likely", that'd be opinion.

But the short of it all is this: All pairings, unless shown obviously in the canon, are crack pairings. And in the world of fanfiction and fanart, anything is possible. But keeping to the character's canon personality as much as possible given the situation we're dealing with, I don't think Kakuzu would let ANYONE dominate him that way, with a few minor exceptions.
It's not just DeiKaku I don't see as plausible, y'know. I've seen KakuSaso and KakuKisa/KisaKaku that I don't think is likely - and asides from the exception of Kakuzu letting him do it just the once, I dislike HidaKaku, too.

So in short, don't try and force your OTP down someone's throat. I've been reasonable in explaining my thoughts behind why I don't think it's possible. I'm not knocking the pairing, I'm not saying you shouldn't like it for whatever reasons, and I'm not saying it's impossible for it to happen. I've just given you my opinion on it, which is damn right allowed since you're the one who questioned it in the first place.
If you don't like what you hear, then don't ask, and leave the conversation. Simple.
